Second Event

Following the success of our first Premiere .NET Event that took place on 19th of May, CDNUG is about to continue the quest pointed towards the .NET technologies. This time, audience will be presented with two sessions: first one will be introduction to Mono, an Open Source implementation of the .NET Framework, following with the advanced level session discussing Enterprise Solution Patterns.

Introduction to Mono – Multiplatform .NET

(by Chad Z. Hower and Bojan Mijuskovic)

Mono, the open source development platform based on the .NET framework, allows developers to build Linux and cross-platform applications with improved developer productivity. Mono's .NET implementation is based on the ECMA standards for C# and the Common Language Infrastructure. Mono project has an active and enthusiastic contributing community. It includes both developer tools and the infrastructure needed to run .NET client and server applications. Mono includes compilers, an ECMA-compatible runtime engine (the Common Language Runtime, or CLR), and many libraries. The libraries include  Microsoft .NET compatibility libraries (including ADO.NET, System.Windows.Forms and ASP.NET) and Mono's own and third party class libraries Gtk#, a set of .NET bindings for the gtk+ toolkit.

Enterprise Solution Patterns Using Microsoft .NET

(by Panayiotis S. Panayiotou)

Enterprise Solution Patterns Using Microsoft .NET introduces the idea of using patterns and how they can provide a common language for developers and architects to make software engineering more efficient and robust. If you are a developer or an architect the Enterprise Library allows you to easily provide extra functionality to an application and decrease the time you have to invest so as you can focused on the core functionality. Some of the Application Blocks are the Configuration Management Application Block, DataAccess Application Block, and Exception Management Application Block.

The event will take place on Wednesday, July 6th at the conference hall of local Microsoft offices in Nicosia, with start at 18:30..  For more information please join CDNUG Yahoo! Group.
